Borders
Adding Decoration to the tops,
sides, bottom or middle of page
adds a nice accent to the
background. You can use
layering, blocking, and paper
tearing techniques. Add
embellishments or just leave
plain. Use Decorative scissors
and Punches or add stickers
and die cuts.
Journaling
Journaling helps record the
memory by detailing the event
where the photo was taken. It
can be hand
written or printed on a
computer.
1. Use a Die Cut Journal Block
2. Use a Sticker Journal Block
3. Use a stencil to write the
lettering
4. Use a computer for
decorative fonts.
5. Write in funny anecdotes.
6. Write in favorite recipes.
TIP #1 – Embellish the Journal
block with stickers and/or die-
cuts.
TIP #2 - Using your own hand
writing helps preserve heritage,
by passing on your handwriting
to future generations
Frames and Mattes
Framing a picture is a good way
to accentuate the photo. Using
colors to match those in the
image, you can make a frame or
photo corners. Pictures can be
placed over a frame or you can
trim a space for the picture to
be framed.
Suggested uses:
o Use pop up dots to give frame
a 3D effect
o Use frames set side by side
without using a margin
o Add Embellishments to Frames
o Use Tags as Frames
o Use a Die Cut as a Frame
Create an outside frame around
a picture or photo.
Tip #1 – Choose a color from the
photo to match the
Frame/Matte.
Tip #2 – Use pop-dots or double-
sided mounting tape to “raise”
the frame.
Tip #3 – Use two frames; one
slightly larger than the other,
layer to give dimension.
Tip #4 - Use decorative scissors
to cut the edges of the frame.
Tip #5 - Use layering technique.
You can layer various sizes of
frames or layer in different
directions.
Tip #6 - Mattes and Frames can
be any shape.

Why Scrapbook? Scrapbooking is a fun, social, and relaxing hobby, but there is a practical
purpose. Acid and Lignen are naturally found in trees. Over time, Acid and Lignen will turn paper
yellow and cause paper to crack. Scrapbook paper and adhesives are Acid Free and Lignen Free. This
slows the aging process so that the pictures and pages do not deteriorate as fast as a regular photo
album.
